School Board recognizes outstanding teachers, federal benchmarks (Eden Daily News)

?Teachers are America?s unsung heroes,? Andrew Tyrrell, assistant superintendent of Danville Public Schools, told the School Board during Thursday night?s regular meeting. Tyrrell said teachers spend their own money on supplies for students who can?t afford them, work more hours in nine months than most people do in a year and pay attention to students who get little attention elsewhere.
