State considers major changes to gifted education plan (Richmond Times-Dispatch)

A state Board of Education forum on proposed changes to Virginia's approach to educating gifted children is scheduled for tonight in Chesapeake. One change would eliminate five-year gifted plans. They would be replaced by one-year plans, and approved by school boards instead of the state. The forum is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. at Oscar F. Smith High School.
